In the course of events surrounding the students' anti-discrimination movement demanding quota reform in government jobs, the authoritarian government fell on 5 August 2024 in exchange for unprecedented violence, bloodshed and sacrifice, and the twelfth national parliament was declared dissolved. In these changed circumstances, the interim government assumed responsibility on 8 August. A set of recommendations was proposed by TIB to the interim government on 28 August 2024 with the aim of necessary reforms in the state structure for preventing corruption and establishing democracy, good governance and integrity, and subsequently sector-based policy briefs have been presented and published, reviews on various draft laws conducted, recommendations presented to various taskforces and committees, and exchanges of views with the higher echelons of government including advisers continue.
TIB believes that regular monitoring of the activities of all stakeholders including the interim government is necessary to fulfil the expectations of state reform. In this context, TIB published an observation-based report on the course of events during the first 100 days after the fall of the authoritarian government (18 November 2024), and subsequently an observation-based research report on the course of events during one year after the fall of the authoritarian government (4 August 2025). In continuation of that, this observation-based research has reviewed the activities of the interim government during one and a half years after the fall of the authoritarian government.
