Governance Challenges in Climate Finance in Bangladesh and Way Forward

Bangladesh is among the countries most vulnerable to the adverse effects of global climate change. In view of climate risks, good governance in climate finance constitutes a priority sector for Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB). To ensure good governance in this sector, TIB has been conducting multifaceted activities encompassing research, advocacy and enhanced citizen engagement. In continuation of this, TIB published a research report titled "Challenges of Good Governance in Climate Finance in Bangladesh and Ways Forward" in November 2025. This research has illustrated the deficits and challenges in good governance regarding the implementation of national and international climate funds operated in Bangladesh between 2003 and 2024. Good governance in climate finance in Bangladesh has been reviewed, and recommendations have been provided based on the research findings.
