Dhaka, 6 July 2025: Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) expresses its profound grief at the passing of Dr. ATM Shamsul Huda, former member of the Board of Trustees and Ombudsperson of TIB.
In a condolence message issued to the media, TIB stated that Dr. Huda served as a member of the Board of Trustees for two consecutive terms (a total of six years) commencing in April 2012, and held the position of Ombudsperson from November 2013 to December 2018.
TIB Executive Director Dr. Iftekharuzzaman said, "Dr. ATM Shamsul Huda made invaluable contributions as an active Trustee and Ombudsperson towards advancing the cause of good governance and accelerating the anti-corruption social movement in Bangladesh. His thoughtful insights, policy guidance, directives, and unwavering support significantly enriched TIB’s institutional journey. For his enduring contributions, TIB remains deeply indebted. As a dedicated, principled, and patriotic professional, he shall remain an enduring source of inspiration to us all."
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the management, and the wider TIB network—including the Committees of Concerned Citizens (CCC), Youth Engagement and Support (YES), Active Citizens’ Groups (ACG), and members across the country—TIB extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prays for the eternal peace of Dr. Huda’s departed soul.
