The Parliament is one of the fundamental pillars of the national integrity system. National Parliament is the center of state activities in the parliamentary government system.
According to the Bangladesh Constitution, the role of the Parliament is very important in reflecting expectations of the people, enacting laws for public welfare and ensuring accountability of the government to the people [Articles 65 (1) and 76 (2) (c)]
In addition, according to the ‘National Integrity Strategy 2012’ of Bangladesh, the Parliament is to make the democratic system consolidated by reflecting the aspirations of the people through enactment of laws and oversight functions.
