Investigative Journalism
Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) introduced its Investigative Journalism Awards program in 1999. This is a competition for the journalists of Bangladesh to encourage investigative journalism.
Investigative reports published in any Bangla or English daily and weekly or broadcast on television are eligible for this competition. In case of print media, the original printed version has to be submitted while in case of television, the report has to be submitted in VHS cassette or CD format with full script. The entries are evaluated in the light of their success in exposing administrative irregularities and mismanagement and institutional and systematic corruption. A TIB-nominated jury panel evaluates the reports and their decisions are considered final.
Along with giving rewards TIB organizes investigative journalism training both for national and local level journalists.
Investigative Journalism Awards
The results for this year's competition have been announced in a seminar at the Conference Hall of BRAC Centre Inn, Dhaka on 24 October 2010.
